The project in Albania included the design and implementation of traffic data collection systems at ten sites. We conducted the installation of systems for the calculation of asphalt road erosion, as part of a project for the European Union. The European standard requires that the road be checked up to the level of the number of vehicles traveling on the road, a calculation of their weight and velocity. This serves to calculate the scheduled date for asphalt renewal. Since Albania is a Third World country, this posed a unique challenge, as we had to bring all of the systems from Israel, in an effort to bridge the technological and mental gaps.
